International Jazz vocalists Trudy Kerr and Anita Wardell met in 1985 during a singing competition in Sydney, Australia. They immediately became good friends and have remained so ever since.
After completing a Bachelor of Music, Anita worked extensively in Australia. She relocated to UK in 1989 and still works on the UK scene. Trudy hails from Brisbane where she performed and toured Australia and the south Pacific. She then moved to London in 1990.
Once in London, they both studied on the postgraduate jazz and studio music course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. This course was a springboard for establishing their careers in jazz singing. As artists they have both recorded albums to critical acclaim and toured worldwide.
Alongside their artistic careers, they share a passion for jazz education. Both are very well respected and globally sought after educators.
After many conversations about vocal jazz education, the time was right to create a collaborative learning platform for jazz singers of all levels.
So Trudy and Anita came up with Jazz Singing School, a learning program for jazz voice.
